Antique Vehicle Registration

Permanent Registration

Vehicles that meet the definition of an antique vehicle may be registered for a permanent registration period. This means that you will not need to renew your registration annually. To be eligible, the vehicle must:

• Be at least 50 years old
• Be in good working condition
• Meet all applicable safety standards

Types of Antique License Plates

Antique license plates are available for vehicles that are at least 50 years old. There are two types of antique license plates available:

• Horseless carriage plates are available for vehicles that were manufactured before 1926.
• Antique vehicle plates are available for vehicles that were manufactured between 1926 and 1949.

Eligibility for Antique Vehicle License

To be eligible for an antique vehicle license, you must:

• Own the vehicle
• Have a valid driver's license
• Have the vehicle inspected by a certified mechanic
• Be a member of an antique vehicle club

Number of Plates

The number of license plates you will receive depends on the type of vehicle you have:

• One plate is issued for vehicles that are manufactured before 1919.
• Two plates are issued for vehicles that are manufactured after 1919.
