Early Life and Playing Career

Eusebio Di Francesco, pronounced [ewˈzɛbjo di franˈtʃesko] in Italian, was born on September 8, 1969, in Pescara, Italy. He began his professional football career as a midfielder for Ascoli in 1989. Di Francesco spent the majority of his playing career with Roma, making over 300 appearances for the club between 1997 and 2001. He also played for Piacenza, Lecce, and Ancona before retiring in 2005.

Managerial Career

After retiring as a player, Di Francesco began his managerial career with Virtus Lanciano in the Italian Serie C. He led the club to promotion to Serie B in 2010 and to the Serie A in 2014. In 2017, Di Francesco was appointed as manager of Roma, where he won the Coppa Italia in his first season.

In 2019, Di Francesco was sacked by Roma and replaced by Paulo Fonseca. He subsequently managed Sampdoria and Cagliari before joining Hellas Verona in 2022.

Personal Life

Eusebio Di Francesco is married and has two children, Federico and Benedetta. Federico is also a professional footballer who plays for Palermo in the Italian Serie B.
